Food is excellent practically everywhere in Mantua, with something for
every budget.
The quality of our local produces is reflected in many traditional
dishes, some of which are: Agnoli in brodo, pumpkin Tortelli, (...)
Fresh egg pasta with beef or donkey stew, duck pasta sauce or the
traditional Italian "ragu'". The northern area of Mantua offers the
"casonsei", delicious bread gnocchi. Pork ribs and sausages barbeques
or chicken, tongue and "cotechino" sausage broth are also on
the menu together with faraona, rabbit roast, polenta with "gran
pista''or "luccio in salsa". Bread and salami and to finish
in style "Sbrisolona cake", the Elvezia, the "Torta delle Rose", the
"Anello di Monaco", a "little grana cheese" with local mustard.
Lambrusco Mantovano and Garda Colli Mantovani are some of the most
popular wines to chose from. |
